Action exhibition. The exhibit will visit here April 1 - 15, 2010, at the
American Legion Post 56 at 16 Stowe Street. Ten artists were
commissioned to create artwork that addresses Vermont's future,
espcially in the areas of the economy, environment and social aspects.
The Art of Action: Shaping Vermont’s Future Through Art is the result of a
partnership between the Vermont Arts Council and philanthropist Lyman
Orton, owner of the Vermont Country Store in Weston and Rochester, VT

Vermont's Open Studio Weekend is a very popular statewide event held
each Memorial Day weekend during which about 200 Vermont
craftspeople and artists open their studios to the public for

Selected as a Top Ten Summer event by the Vermont Chamber of
Commerce. Exhibits, workshops, lectures, appraisals, merchants mall,
kids programs. One of the largest quilt shows in the northeast. More than
400 quilts in two buildings: antique quilt section, works by the festival
teachers, and special exhibits. Leading the way is a judged show with
some 180 quilts entered in the annual contest. From the youngest
beginner to the most practiced expert, contestants provide something for
every taste, from the most traditional to the avant-garde. Also, there are
daily gallery talks about some of the principal exhibits. The curators or
other knowledgeable Festival staff will offer informal 30 to 45 minutes talks
once or twice each day and answer questions about the quilts. Classes
begin June 23.

June 27, 2009
Many communities around Waterbury have 4th of July parades and
fireworks so Waterbury has its own event the weekend before. The parade
takes place on Main Street from the VT State Office complex on south
Main Street to the Dac Rowe Field at the north end of the village.

Stowe Resort will have fireworks with live music at 8:30 on July 3. On the
morning of July 4th, Warren VT will hold its 60th annual parade, a highly
popular event. There will be fireworks at nearby Sugarbush Resort that
evening. Burlington will also have a community celebration with fireworks
on the waterfront July 3.

The Champlain Valley Quilters' Guild of Vermont 2009 "Ladies of the
Lake" quilt show and competition will be at the Coach Barn at Shelburne
Farms, Shelburne, Vermont, located on Harbor Road off Route 7. Ample
free parking on site. Named in honor of the 400th anniversary of the
discovery of Lake Champlain, the show includes a display of quilts, wall
of silent auction quilts, raffle quilt, prizes, handmade crafts, merchant mall,
