You'll be surprised at how much there is to do in Waterbury. You can visit Vermont's #1 tourist attraction: Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream plant, a Mecca for lovers ofpremium ice cream. Take a tour of the facility and can watch those delicious flavors beingmade.   Samples and gifts are available. And not far up the road are a number of other specialty food shops: Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Visitor's Center and Cafe, Vermont Teddy Bear, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Cabot Creamery Annex, plus maple syrup and other goodies for which this part of Vermont is famous. At the Cold Hollow Cider Mill you can watch them making cider from local apple orchards, and sample unique mustards and jams for which they are famous. There are antique shops and craft outlets too.

In the village itself boutique shopping opportunities mingle with century old traditions: a weekly farmers market on the green, with a colorful variety of both standard and exotic fruits and vegetables aswell as the products of Vermont kitchens and looms laid out on improvised displays around the lawn. On other evenings free publicband concerts take over. Weekends offer a mammoth flea market on ten acres of open land: a vast open air museumof country artifacts, a mixture of trash and treasures.

Historic Stowe Street

Recent architectural restoration along Stowe Street provides an opportunity for you to visit an historic village shopping district lined with restaurants, shops and pubs. Stowe Street intersects Main Street at the top of "bank hill" (at one of our two traffic signals).
